Ms. McPaul has been a practicing Federal Indian law and Tribal Law attorney for seven years. She has experience in providing all aspects of general counsel work including: drafting tribal constitutions, codes, resolutions, by-laws, and policies; reviewing and drafting leases and contracts; and performing complex legal research and analysis to provide legal advice to tribal councils, enterprises, boards and departments. Ms. McPaul has also worked on special project work including tribal land restoration matters, a comprehensive tribal court review, and tribal housing collection and eviction matters. Ms. McPaul also has broad civil and criminal litigation experience in state, federal, and tribal courts as well as before administrative bodies on matters including sovereign immunity, tribal exhaustion, tribal trust, contract, employment and probate.
